The Library at Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub is focused on access and convenience. With no walls or doors, no separate opening/closing times and portable furniture, the library provides a flexible space with the potential for a range of activities and cultural events. There is also a quiet space for storytimes and reading groups.
A self-service machine enables users to issue and return books and manage reservations.
Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub library isn’t about Ssh! It is an interactive and vibrant space designed for all ages and will be accessible throughout the hub.
The Hub library concentrates on the most popular areas of adult fiction and non-fiction, teenage fiction and children’s fiction and non-fiction. Books will also be made available throughout the hub to support the various functions, such as health and wellbeing, as more facilities open.
Digital information available
Digital Information is also a focus for the hub library with a range of online information sources available to all users, from information books to help with homework to websites to help you pass your driving Theory Test.
Access to public computers, printer and photocopier
Public computers are available for quick access on the ground floor and are suited for the visitor who simply wants to print documents via a public printer and photocopier, pick up emails, check social media, or browse the Library catalogue; quieter areas will be more suited to research, discovery and informal learning.
For those with their own devices there is free wi-fi and comfortable seating as well as the cafe where very soon you will be able to purchase a drink or something to eat.
